StructLab by InstraHub
A 2D/3D structural analysis desktop app built on the Direct Stiffness Method — frames, beams, trusses and design checks in one unified solver.
Windows standalone — download, extract, and run StructLab.exe.
Capabilities
One Solver for Frames, Beams & Trusses
A unified Direct Stiffness Method engine — 2D and 3D, auto-detecting, validated against OpenSeesPy and analytical solutions to 0.00% error across 20 benchmarks.
Solver Engine
Unified 2D/3D DSM (3 or 6 DOF/node). Frame, beam, truss and bar elements with pin releases. EN 1990 ULS/SLS combinations, EN 1992 pattern loading, point/UDL/UVL and partial-span loads, and max/min envelopes across all combinations.
3D Modelling
Blender-inspired workflow — G to grab, E to extrude — with numpad view shortcuts, an Autodesk-style ViewCube, middle-mouse orbit/pan, and XY/XZ/YZ working planes.
Results & Diagrams
Inline BMD / SFD / AFD and deformed-shape overlays with peak labels, a 9-column member forces table, and full 6-DOF result tables in 3D (dx…θz, Fx…Mz).
Design Checks
Steel to EC3 (elastic & plastic bending, η = M/MRd) and concrete to EC2 §6.1 (rectangular section capacity with reinforcement), plus a European steel section database (IPE, HEA, HEB).
19 Presets & Wizards
Ready-to-run models: simply supported / continuous / cantilever beams, portal and multi-storey frames, Pratt 2D/3D trusses, RC and composite specials, and 3D grids.
Validated
Benchmarked against OpenSeesPy and closed-form solutions — 0.00% error across 20 test cases — so you can trust the numbers.
